PARISIAN LIVING's current line-up still features the original five musicians who formed the band in 1981.

JOHN, lead vocals and guitar, 29, born in what is now Tanzania, formerly of the Bop Natives and the Downbeats, not to mention the Tulsa Torpedoes, and still in the Mudcats, in which he was/is bass player, but his real genius lies in his fluid, soulful vocal delivery. Also plays guitar hot enough to melt the tyres on your Ford.

ALAN, drums, lead and backing vocals, percussion, 29 born in Hersham, plays a much- customised Sonor kit from the 70's at least. Parisian Living recordings also feature his collection of percussions from around the globe, and from the music shops of Southern England.

TIM alias Timski, the Time Lord, synths and bass synths, 29, from another galaxy, he was recruited because he owned a synthesiser and knew about electronics. He has now achieved success in the world of telecoms equipment. He steals mobile phones! Only joking, Tom! If he says he can do it, Tim can do it.

MIKE, bass guitar, lead and backing vocals, 29, also a Hersham boy, Alan's brother by blood, lyricist and creative engine of the group.
Mike also plays alongside Alan in the Fargin Bastages, a half- Irish folk- rock band.

PHIL, piano, 29, from Reading, our matinee idol, don't blink or you'll miss him in "Chariots Of Fire." Phil is a freelance restaurant critic, and also has a book on street markets to his name. Potentially the most expensive member of the band, Lunch Box Records awaits his requisition for a Yamaha Grand with apprehension!

Plus the battle- hardened survivors of the recruits since then, including-

GILLIAN, backing vocals, 29, Mike's partner (he's a lucky dog.) She's a nurse in Real Life. Endlessly scathing about Parisian Living, she nevertheless turns out every time, dresses to the nines and dances and sings up!

CHAN, lead guitar, 29, known in the Glasgow area, wields a guitar with a name, "Shade" to be precise. He has been in and out of the band since 1986 and also formed Fairplay in 1990 with Mike and Alan, a swinging blues band. Plays guitar on the edge of the razorblade.

DAVID, saxophones and flute, 29 from Newbury, also played in the much ignored Hat Shakers, a fascinatingly tinkly-bonk outfit on the fringes of the folk thing. David's unerring sense of melody ices the cake of many a Parisians opus. Joined in 1987.

BONGO BILLY, percussion, 29, from Liverpool, has beaten skins with Parisian Living since being introduces by David in 1988. Is also in 60's style nutters The Paisley Wheelchair Experience. Most likely to say "You're mad, you lot are!"

MANIC MIKE, lead and rhythm guitar, 29, from another, different, galaxy, joined in 1993 after meeting Mike and Alan at a Fargin Bastages gig at the old Purple Turtle. More versatile than a Swiss Army knife, Manic Mike also brings considerable technical knowledge of music to the band, and introduced Francois- about whom…

FRANCOIS, lead vocals, drums, 29 from Cambrai in Northern France. The brother from another country was adopted on Parisian Living's successful venture to the Alpaje Concert of the Festival des Carrieres near Lyon in 1997. "I like to sing" said Francois, and Parisian Living took him at his word.
